Y.S.R. Engineering College of Yogi Vemana University (YSREC), Proddatur, was established in the academic year 2008-2009. Originally founded as the Yogi Vemana University College of Engineering, it was renamed in 2010 to honor the late Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. As a constituent college of Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, it represents a significant effort by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to provide high-quality, affordable technical education to students in the Rayalaseema region and across the state. The campus is spread over a sprawling area in Proddatur, a town known for its industrial proximity and commercial significance. The institution is committed to producing skilled engineers through its six core undergraduate departments: Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, and Metallurgical Engineering. Admission Process

Admission to B.Tech programs is primarily conducted through the AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) organized by APSCHE. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as optional subjects with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories). Seats are allotted through centralized web counseling based on merit ranks. A small percentage of seats may be available under the Management Quota, for which candidates must contact the college administration directly.
