Established in 1943, Utkal University is the seventeenth oldest university in India and the oldest in the state of Odisha. Often referred to as the 'Mother University' of the state, it was inaugurated by the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and functions from its sprawling 400-acre campus named 'Vani Vihar' in Bhubaneswar. Admission Process

Admission to PG courses (MA, M.Sc, M.Com) is primarily through the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) conducted by the Higher Education Department, Odisha. Professional courses like MBA and MCA require valid CAT/MAT/OJEE scores. Ph.D. admissions are based on an entrance test followed by a viva-voce, with exemptions for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
