THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology (THDC-IHET) is a premier government engineering college established in 2011. It is a campus institute of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University. The institute was established through an MoU between THDC India Ltd (A Mini Ratna PSU) and the Government of Uttarakhand to produce skilled engineers for the power and renewable energy sectors.

Admissions are conducted through Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU) counseling based on JEE Main ranks. Direct admission/Spot counseling is also conducted for vacant seats using 10+2 merit.
