Swami Vivekanand Government College (SVGC), Ghumarwin, established in 1994, is a premier higher education institution located in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. Spread over a lush green 14.45-acre campus, the college was founded with the mission of providing quality education to the rural masses of the region. Initially starting with only the Arts faculty, the college expanded rapidly to include Science and Commerce streams in 1998. Today, it is recognized as a 'B' Grade institution by NAAC and is fully affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. The institution serves over 3,000 students across various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The college infrastructure is a blend of traditional academic values and modern requirements, featuring 30 classrooms, 10 ICT-enabled smart rooms, and 8 well-equipped laboratories. SVGC Ghumarwin is particularly noted for its self-financing vocational courses like BCA, BBA, and PGDCA, which were introduced to enhance the employability of local youth.
