About SCMS School of Engineering and Technology (SSET)

SCMS School of Engineering and Technology (SSET), established in 2001, is the flagship engineering institution of the SCMS Group, one of India's premier educational conglomerates. Sprawled across a scenic 29-acre campus at Karukutty in Ernakulam, the institute is widely recognized for its uncompromising academic standards and commitment to professional excellence. SSET was one of the first ten self-financing engineering colleges in Kerala and has since grown into a premier technical hub accredited with a 'B++' grade by NAAC and ISO certification for quality management. The college aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial practice by fostering a culture of innovation and research-driven learning. Affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), the college offers undergraduate B.Tech programs in nine specializations, alongside M.Tech, MCA, and Ph.D. programs. SSET is home to unique Centers of Excellence, most notably the SCMS Water Institute (SWI) and the SCMS Institute of Road Safety and Transport (SIRST), which engage in high-impact social and technical research. The campus is equipped with cutting-edge facilities including air-conditioned computer labs, a Fab Lab established in collaboration with the Kerala Startup Mission and MIT, and a state-of-the-art robotics center. The institution's academic rigor is balanced by its 'Yield to Professionalism' (Y2P) program, which prepares students for global corporate environments through soft skills and personality development. Student life at SSET is defined by a focused approach to engineering. While it maintains strict disciplinary standards, it provides a vibrant platform for technical enthusiasts through its annual fest 'Igniz' and various student chapters of IEEE, CSI, and ISTE. The placement cell at SSET is one of the most proactive in the state, maintaining strong ties with global giants like TCS, Amazon, and Accenture. With a robust alumni network and a faculty team consisting of experienced academicians and industry veterans, SSET continues to be a top destination for aspiring engineers who seek a disciplined yet high-growth educational environment.
