About Pocker Sahib Memorial Orphanage (PSMO) College, Tirurangadi

Pocker Sahib Memorial Orphanage (PSMO) College, Tirurangadi, established in 1968, is a premier government-aided autonomous institution in Malappuram, Kerala. Founded by the Tirurangadi Muslim Orphanage Committee in memory of the late Seethi Sahib and Pocker Sahib, the college was envisioned to provide high-quality higher education to the socially and educationally backward classes of Malabar. Affiliated with the University of Calicut and accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC, PSMO is celebrated as the first autonomous college in the Malappuram district. This status grants the institution the freedom to design its own curriculum and conduct examinations, ensuring a modern and industry-relevant academic experience. As of 2026, the college has seamlessly implemented the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), offering Honors degrees across a wide spectrum of Science, Commerce, and Arts disciplines. The campus is a blend of heritage and modern infrastructure, featuring state-of-the-art laboratories, a massive digitalized library, and specialized research centers for Physics and Chemistry. PSMO is known for its academic rigor, consistently producing university toppers and successful professionals. The faculty is comprised of distinguished scholars, many of whom are involved in high-level research projects. Beyond academics, the college is a hub of cultural and social activity, with its NSS and NCC units recognized at the state level. The institution's commitment to social justice is reflected in its inclusive environment and various scholarship programs for underprivileged students. With a legacy spanning over five decades, PSMO College continues to be a beacon of enlightenment and a catalyst for social transformation in North Kerala.
