About National Institute of Technology, Silchar

National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is one of the 31 NITs in India, established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College. It was upgraded to an NIT in 2002. It is recognized as an Institute of National Importance and is situated on a sprawling 625-acre campus in Assam, known for its technical excellence and scenic lakes.

Admission Process

Admission to B.Tech is through JEE Main via JoSAA/CSAB. M.Tech admissions require GATE scores via CCMT. M.Sc admissions are via IIT JAM through CCMN. MBA admissions are based on CAT/MAT/CMAT scores followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
