About MEA Engineering College, Perinthalmanna

MEA Engineering College (MEAEC), Perinthalmanna, established in 2002, is a premier self-financing engineering institution in Malappuram district, Kerala. It is the first engineering college in the region to be sponsored by the 'Samastha Kerala Jammiyyathul Ulama', an influential educational body. The college was established with the noble vision of providing high-quality technical education to the educationally backward classes and minority communities of Northern Kerala. Located in a sprawling 28-acre green campus at Vengoor, near Perinthalmanna, the institute offers a serene and distraction-free environment that is ideal for academic excellence and research. Over the years, MEAEC has evolved into a center of excellence, characterized by its commitment to discipline, moral values, and technological innovation. Affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and approved by AICTE, the college offers undergraduate programs in seven engineering disciplines and postgraduate programs in two streams, alongside a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Ph.D. programs. The institute has secured NAAC accreditation and NBA accreditation for several of its core departments, reflecting its adherence to global quality standards. The faculty members are highly qualified, with a blend of experienced professors and young, energetic researchers who prioritize hands-on learning over rote memorization. The campus is known for its strong focus on emerging technologies, recently expanding its intake in high-demand areas like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Beyond the classroom, MEAEC fosters a culture of entrepreneurship and creativity through its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) and active student chapters of global bodies like IEEE and ISTE. The campus infrastructure is modern, featuring state-of-the-art labs, a digitalized library, and unique facilities like an on-campus Masjid and daycare. The annual arts fest 'MECAF' and various sports events provide students with a platform to showcase their multifaceted talents. With a dedicated Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU), the college has consistently achieved commendable placement records, placing students in top-tier multinational corporations and research organizations, thereby fulfilling its mission of creating globally competent and socially committed engineers.
