About MAHATMA GANDHI GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE KOTLA JEORI HIMACHAL PRADESH

Mahatma Gandhi Government Engineering College (MGGEC) Kotla (Jeori) is a premier technical institution established in 2015 by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Situated in the serene environment of the Shimla district, it is the fourth government engineering college in the state. The institution was founded with the vision of providing high-quality technical education to the youth of Himachal Pradesh, particularly those from rural backgrounds, to transform them into skilled professionals capable of meeting global industrial challenges. The college is spread across a picturesque campus overlooking the Satluj river valley, offering a calm and focused atmosphere for academic excellence. MGGEC is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur. The academic structure is currently focused on two core engineering branches: Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, both of which are critical to the state's infrastructure and industrial growth. The faculty consists of highly qualified educators, many of whom hold PhDs from prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. The college emphasizes a balanced approach between theoretical knowledge and practical application, supported by state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops. Over the years, the institute has shown significant progress in infrastructure development, including the completion of academic blocks and hostel facilities. With a commitment to ethical standards and environmentally responsible engineering, MGGEC continues to emerge as a significant hub for technical learning in Northern India.
