Maa Manikeswari University (formerly known as Kalahandi University) is a premier state public university situated in Bhawanipatna, the heart of the Kalahandi district in Odisha. Established on September 1, 2020, through the transformation of the Government Autonomous College (est. 1960), the university was renamed in December 2023 in honor of the presiding deity of the region, Maa Manikeswari. Spanning a sprawling 96.47-acre urban campus, the university serves as a vital educational hub for the KBK (Kalahandi-Bolangir-Koraput) region. It offers a diverse range of 23 undergraduate and 18 postgraduate programs across Science, Humanities, Commerce, and Professional sectors like BBA, BCA, and B.Ed.
