About Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT)

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), now officially known as Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU), is one of India's premier private technology institutions, located on a sprawling 50-acre eco-friendly campus in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat. Founded in August 2001 by the visionary industrialist Shri Dhirubhai Hirachand Ambani and promoted by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and the Reliance Group, the institution was born with a singular mission: to help build a knowledge-led society founded on intellectual competitiveness for global leadership. An Act of the Gujarat State Legislature (Act No. 6 of 2003) conferred upon DA-IICT the status of a University, and it was recognized as a University under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. In 2009, it became a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In 2024, DA-IICT transitioned into a fully multidisciplinary university under the name Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU), broadening its academic scope while retaining its core focus on technology, science, and innovation. The institution has been accredited with an A+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and holds the prestigious 'Centre of Excellence' award conferred by the Government of Gujarat. It is approved by UGC and AIU. Academically, DA-IICT offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate, dual degree, and doctoral programs spanning Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics, Design, Data Science, and Agriculture Analytics. The flagship B.Tech program in ICT remains one of the most sought-after technology programs in India. As per NIRF 2025, the institution is ranked in the 201–300 band in Engineering nationally, and it secured the 2nd rank among all private universities in India in IIRF 2025.
