International Management Institute (IMI) Kolkata is a premier private business school located in the Alipore neighbourhood of Kolkata, West Bengal. Established in 2010 and commencing operations in 2011, IMI Kolkata is an integral part of the IMI family of B-Schools, which traces its origins to 1981 when IMI New Delhi was founded in collaboration with IMI Geneva (now IMD Lausanne) — making it India's first corporate-sponsored business school. The Kolkata campus was established under the initiative of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, one of India's most distinguished conglomerates, reflecting the group's commitment to world-class management education in Eastern India. The institute operates on a compact yet modern 3-acre residential campus that is strategically situated in Alipore — one of Kolkata's most prestigious localities — providing students easy access to the city's thriving business district, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters. The campus features air-conditioned smart classrooms, an RPG Auditorium, a well-stocked digital library with over 20,000 books and access to premium databases like EBSCO, Capitaline, and CMIE, a Bloomberg Finance Lab, a dedicated Analytics and Data Science Centre, computer labs, and a fully residential hostel system with single-occupancy rooms for both male and female students.
