Admission Process

Admission to IIT Bhubaneswar varies by programme level. For B.Tech, candidates must qualify JEE Advanced and participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling. Eligibility requires 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For M.Tech, candidates must have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline; admission is done through COAP counselling followed by a written test and/or personal interview at IIT Bhubaneswar. A Blended M.Tech mode for working professionals is also available without mandatory GATE. For M.Sc and Joint M.Sc-Ph.D programmes, admission is through the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.). For Ph.D and MS by Research, candidates must have a relevant M.Tech/M.Sc/B.Tech degree, clear a written test, and appear for a Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the respective School.
