Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM Sambalpur), informally known as IIM-S, is a premier public business school and an Institute of National Importance located in Basantpur, Goshala, Sambalpur, Odisha. Nestled alongside the scenic Mahanadi River in the culturally rich region of Western Odisha, IIM Sambalpur was founded on 23 September 2015 following an announcement by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2014. The foundation stone was laid and the institute was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, making it one of the most significant educational initiatives in Eastern India. Established under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, IIM Sambalpur is governed by the IIM Act of 2017 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. Minimum CAT 2025 overall cutoff: General – 90 percentile (85 for female candidates & male candidates with 1+ year work experience), EWS – 80, NC-OBC – 75, SC – 55, ST/DAP – 40. The process includes shortlisting based on Pre-PI score followed by online/hybrid Personal Interview. BS in Data Science & AI: Admission through JEE Main scores followed by a Personal Interview round conducted by IIM Sambalpur. BS in Management & Public Policy: Admission through IPMAT (IIM Indore) scores followed by a Personal Interview at IIM Sambalpur.
