Government Polytechnic Sundernagar, established in 1959, holds the distinction of being the first premier technical institute in Himachal Pradesh. Spanning across a lush green 23.75-acre campus in the Mandi district, the institute is strategically located on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway (NH-21). It was founded through the instrumental efforts of Shri Lalit Sen and has since produced thousands of engineers who have contributed significantly to the development of the state. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala. The college offers diploma programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Automobile Engineering, and Architecture Assistantship.
