Government Polytechnic Peren (GPP) stands as a pioneering institution in the state of Nagaland, specifically established to bridge the gap in technical expertise within the Peren district. Founded officially in March 2021 under the Department of Technical Education, Nagaland, the institute's inception dates back to 2015 when its foundation stone was laid. Although construction was completed by 2019, global health challenges delayed its full operationalization until recently. The institution operates with a distinct mission reflected in its motto, 'Innovate and Inspire,' focusing heavily on the creative and technical realm of Interior Design. Located in the serene, landlocked mountains of New Peren, the campus offers a unique, distraction-free environment conducive to artistic and technical learning. It is situated approximately 15 kms from Jalukie town and 45 kms from Dimapur, the state's commercial hub. As the first polytechnic in the Peren district, it serves as a critical educational landmark, aiming to empower local youth with industry-relevant skills. The curriculum is meticulously designed to cover residential and commercial design, CAD software, project management, and client interaction, ensuring that graduates are ready for the competitive job market or entrepreneurship. Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), GPP provides state-of-the-art facilities including modern drafting studios, computer labs, and a well-stocked library. Despite being a relatively new institution, it is committed to fostering a paradigm of innovation. The college is headed by the Principal-in-Charge and functions under the governance of the Directorate of Technical Education, Kohima.
