Government Arts College, Udhagamandalam (GAC Ooty), established in 1955, is one of the oldest and most prestigious government institutions in the Nilgiris. The college operates from the historic 'Stone House,' the first bungalow built in Ooty, which served as the summer secretariat of the British Madras Presidency. It offers a wide range of UG, PG, and Research programs (M.Phil/Ph.D.) and is particularly noted for its unique course in Wildlife Biology.
