About DC School of Architecture and Design (DCSAAD), Trivandrum

DC School of Architecture and Design (DCSAAD), Trivandrum, is a premier creative institution promoted by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and the renowned publishing house, DC Books. Established in 2014, the college is situated within the vibrant Kinfra Film and IT Park in Kazhakkoottam, Thiruvananthapuram. This unique location offers students a professional ecosystem where technology, cinema, and design intersect. Affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and approved by the Council of Architecture (COA) and AICTE, DCSAAD has quickly become a benchmark for architectural education in Kerala. The school is known for its 'holistic pedagogy,' which moves away from rote learning toward a process-oriented approach, emphasizing environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The campus is designed as a residential hub to foster a continuous learning environment where students and faculty engage beyond classroom hours. It features high-end infrastructure, including well-ventilated studios, a material museum, and specialized labs for climatology and acoustics. The faculty consists of a mix of experienced academics and leading practicing architects, ensuring that the curriculum remains grounded in real-world application. DCSAAD is particularly celebrated for its 'Bachelor of Design' (B.Des) program, which is among the first of its kind in the state to receive AICTE approval. Regular events like 'Akam Idam Porul' and international lecture series provide students with a global perspective on design. With its deep roots in Kerala’s cultural landscape and a forward-looking technical approach, DCSAAD continues to nurture a new generation of empathetic and innovative designers.
