The College of Food and Dairy Technology (CFDT), Koduveli, is a premier constituent institution of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS). Established in 1991, CFDT was born out of a strategic vision to address the growing needs of the food and dairy processing sectors in India. Located on a sprawling campus in Koduveli, Chennai, the college serves as a specialized hub for technical education, research, and entrepreneurship in the food sciences. It is the first college in South India to offer a dedicated Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Food Technology, followed by Dairy Technology, aiming to bridge the gap between agricultural production and consumer demand through value addition. The institution is recognized for its unique 'learning-by-doing' philosophy. It houses an Experimental Dairy Plant and a Food Processing Business Incubation Centre (FPBIC), which provide students with real-world exposure to commercial production lines. Admission Process

Admission to B.Tech Food/Dairy Technology is purely merit-based, conducted through the single-window counseling system of TANUVAS/TNEA based on 12th-grade marks. For postgraduate M.Tech and Ph.D. programs, candidates must appear for the TANUVAS PG Common Entrance Examination or provide valid TANCET/CEETA scores. Counseling is held at the Madhavaram Milk Colony campus for all selected candidates.
