COEP Technological University, popularly known as COEP Pune, is one of India's most prestigious and historic engineering institutions. Founded in July 1854 as the 'Poona Engineering and Mechanical School,' it holds the distinction of being the third oldest engineering college in Asia, after the College of Engineering Guindy (1794) and IIT Roorkee (1847). Originally established to train Public Works Department (PWD) officers of British India, COEP has evolved over 170 years into a full-fledged Technological University under the Government of Maharashtra. Admission Process

B.Tech admissions at COEP Technological University are conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) by DTE Maharashtra. 80% of seats are filled via MHT CET scores (Maharashtra State quota) and 20% via JEE Main scores (All India quota). Candidates must have passed 10+2 (HSC) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories). Lateral entry to second year B.Tech is available for diploma holders through MHT CET-L. M.Tech admissions are based on GATE scores followed by CAP counselling by DTE Maharashtra.
