CMS College Kottayam holds the unique distinction of being the first institution of higher education in India, established in 1817 by the Church Missionary Society (CMS). Often referred to as the 'Cradle of Modern Kerala,' the college has played a pivotal role in the social and educational reform movements of the state. It was the first to introduce English medium education and to open its doors to students of all castes and creeds. The college was granted autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2016, allowing it to design its own curriculum and evaluation systems under Mahatma Gandhi University. Spanning across a historic 30-acre campus with magnificent Gothic architecture, the institution provides a diverse array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. Admission Process

Admission to UG and PG programs is merit-based, conducted through a centralized portal. For UG courses, marks in the 12th standard (Plus Two) are considered. PG admissions are based on UG CGPA.
