About Central University of South Bihar

Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), officially established in 2009 under the Central Universities Act (Section 25 of 2009), is a premier central government-funded university located on a sprawling 300-acre campus in Gaya, Bihar. Formerly known as the Central University of Bihar (CUB), the institution is one of 54 such universities under the purview of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Admission Process

Admission to CUSB is entirely entrance-based and conducted online through the official portal (cusb.ac.in / cusbcuet.samarth.edu.in). UG and integrated programs (BA+B.Ed., B.Sc.+B.Ed., BA LLB Hons.) require valid CUET-UG scores. PG programs (MA, M.Sc., M.Com., LLM, M.Ed., M.Pharm.) require valid CUET-PG scores. M.Tech admission is based on GATE scores followed by CUSB counselling. Ph.D. admission requires UGC-NET/JRF or a CUSB entrance test, followed by a personal interview. Applications are submitted online; candidates must upload Class 10 & 12 marksheets, date of birth proof, migration certificate, caste and PWD certificates (if applicable), medical fitness certificate, character certificate, and passport-size photographs. Seat allotment is based on CUET scores and merit; candidates must pay fees to confirm admission. SC/ST/OBC candidates receive a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks.

CUET UG Cut-off varies by programme and category. BA LLB (Hons.) general category closing rank is approximately 40,000–60,000 (CUET percentile). B.Sc. Hons. general category closing rank varies between 70–90 percentile. Integrated B.A./B.Sc.+B.Ed. cutoffs are released programme-wise each round. PG cut-offs (CUET-PG) are released round-wise on the official CUSB portal. 18 new courses were added in 2024 with no minimum cut-off score required.
