Khedgi’s Basaveshwar Science, Raja Vijaysinh Commerce and Raja Jaysinh Arts College, Akkalkot, is a premier multidisciplinary institution established on June 15, 1970, by the Akkalkot Education Society. Spanning a lush 12-acre campus donated by the Late Shrimant Mrudularaje Bhosale, the college was founded with the noble objective of providing higher education to the rural and drought-prone population of the Maharashtra-Karnataka border region. Over the past five decades, it has evolved into a center of academic excellence, catering to nearly 1,500 students across Arts, Science, Commerce, and Information Technology streams. The college holds a B+ accreditation from NAAC and is affiliated with Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. The institution is uniquely positioned as a bilingual hub, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Kannada to serve the linguistic needs of the border community. It is the only college under Solapur University providing a PG center and Ph.D. facilities in Kannada.
