Bhanudasrao Chavan Arts, Science and Commerce College, Lohara, was established in the academic year 2016-17 by the Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (M.S.P. Mandal), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Named after the visionary social reformer Late Bhanudasrao Chavan, the institution was founded with the primary objective of bringing high-quality higher education to the doorstep of the socially and economically backward rural population of the Lohara taluka in the Dharashiv (formerly Osmanabad) district. This region, historically neglected and severely affected by the 1993 Killari earthquake, lacked adequate educational infrastructure until the establishment of this college. The college is affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and offers comprehensive undergraduate programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce. With a focus on holistic development, the institution provides state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, a digital library, and a robust National Service Scheme (NSS) unit to instill social responsibility in students.
